The swank little Vila de Gràcia is one of the city’s most Bohemian and groovy districts, and its centre is packed with authentic culinary delights from Japan, Thailand, Palestine, Turkey and Egypt, as well as places dedicated to serving up the wonders of Catalan cuisine. A great secret is La Panxa del Bisbe. After his success at Barcelona restaurant Santa María, Xavi Codina has set up his own kitchen, specialising in miniature cookery, perfect for pockets and discerning palates. My favourites of the season are battered rabbit ribs, mussels with chips, and for dessert, Coca-Cola mousse. The water and olives are on the house. And for afterwards, the bar next door, Gata Mala, does the best G&Ts in the neighbourhood, at 5€, personalised with pepper and a slice of cucumber. Cheers!
